Community Roots

We have a long standing relationship with many of Ontario’s Farm Mutuals which are owned by their policyholders and are very active within the communities they reside in. Insurance companies stepped up to help out clients as we continue to navigate through the global pandemic for Covid-19. Below are some brief highlights.

Heartland Farm Mutual

In 2020 Heartland answered the call by many of their policyholders, brokers and employees to contribute to the communities they live, work and play in. Heartland has established the iHeart Community fund which provided community based services with some much needed support. Some of these examples included funds donated to Cancer Assistance Drive & Ride Program which provides free transportation for cancer patients while attending medical appointments and also Mission Service London was able to purchase a new walk-in freezer for their food bank program. To further support Personal Protective Equipment requirements, Heartland donated over 3000 medical face shields amongst eight hospitals across Ontario.

Dumfries Mutual

As Ontario’s oldest mutual insurance company, Dumfries has become a staple in their community for over 180 years. As businesses worldwide closed their doors to help curb the spread of COVID-19, some were able to pivot to an online only model while some had to scramble to adapt to a new normal. Dumfries provided a customer spotlight in an effort to generate traffic via social media. Some notable clients included the Rockton Agricultural Society, Pineland Greens Golf Club, Devonworth Embroidery.

Peel Mutual

Peel Mutual Insurance kicked off their #GiveBack campaign in August 2020 in an effort to help support many of their own community agencies such as Knight’s Table. Peel also helped cultivate strong relationships with the Caledon Exchange which provided an operating budget for community based programs and a local food bank. Peel Mutual Insurance further provided funds to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Barrie as a way to further their involvement in the community through day programs and various projects.
