Liability
At Acumen Insurance Group we understand that no two farm operations are identical and each operation may have circumstances that require a special level of detail. Insurance for a small 10 acre hobby farm is much different than an 80 acre cash crop farm. While most policies do have common coverage available for items such as your home, outbuildings, machinery and livestock under your care. There is also liability coverage in the event someone is injured while visiting the farm or if you are spraying to protect your crops and the wind blows the chemicals and causes damage to a neighbours property.
Pollution Liability
This is extension that provides coverage for legal liability arising out of sudden and accidental which are discovered in 120 Hours* (refer to your policy wordings)
Examples of this coverage:
- Chemical oversray from frming operations
- Accidental spill caused by a tenant on your land
- Accidental spills from vechicle collisions
The cost associated with this typically depends on the number of tanks, and limit of coverage required
Excess Liability
Provides excess liability coverage over your farm, farm vehicles and personal watercraft. It may also provide coverage for additional coverage which is not normally covered.
Premiums are based on total acreage, number of farm vehicles, recreational vehicles and limits of coverage requested.
